The Indonesian Waqf Board distributed warm clothes to Palestinian children so they could celebrate Eid al-Fitr in comfort on Saturday (March 14, 2026).
Over the course of more than two years of genocide, Israel has claimed the lives of more than 72,000 people and destroyed over 90% of critical infrastructure, including homes, schools, and hospitals. Although urgent needs continue to grow, humanitarian aid remains systematically blocked, leaving millions of Gazans trapped in a never-ending crisis. Even during the ceasefire, Israel continues to block the entry of essential food items and only allows limited supplies—far from enough to meet the needs of millions of Gazans.
Northern Gaza has been one of the areas hardest hit by Israeli attacks since October 2023, with damage levels reaching 70%. Attacks continue to target infrastructure, residential areas, educational facilities, health services, and public spaces in the region. As a result, hundreds of thousands of residents have been forced to flee, with severely limited access to food, sanitation, and health services.
Palestine is now entering its third winter since Israel’s genocide began. Gaza is once again facing extreme weather conditions that are worsening the plight of the refugees. The winter is exacerbating the suffering of those living in makeshift tents made of cloth and nylon, which cannot withstand the cold temperatures.
Furthermore, many children are wearing only thin clothing to get through the long winter. The Indonesian Waqf Board (BWI) distributed 160 pieces of warm clothing in Bait Lahia, Northern Gaza. Amid the biting cold, this aid is expected to provide warmth to 160 beneficiary children—the result of a waqf fundraising campaign during the Waqf Run 2025 event (December 14, 2025). Additionally, this aid is also expected to ease the burden on these Palestinian children.
